DIY – How to Make a Lamp Shade
If you have an old lamp shade and want to make a change, you can fix another shade following a few simple directions. First, you must choose your desired fabric and cut it according to lamp measurements. For a firm shape lamp shade, carefully apply a pressure sensitive styrene on the backside of your fabric. Arrange the lamp rings, wrapping the fabric around them, and catch them with bulldog clips. Mark the seam of the shade and remove the metal rings. Glue the seam with quick glue and let it dry for about 10 minutes. Insert the rings back and glue them to the paper. Cut long strips from the same fabric, to make paper tapes and cover the top, the bottom and the seam, gluing them on. In this way, you can create a new look for your old lamp, matching it with the rest of the accessories!
